For as long as I can remember I have loved both books and art.  Many a Saturday was spent carrying home armfuls of books filled with beautiful artwork and magical stories.  Back home I’d pour over the pages for hours.  Each story contained a new world that I could enter each time I picked up a book.  This fostered a lifelong passion for children’s book illustration.

    My love of the arts then lead me into the theatre.  Painting scenic art allowed me to experience my art on a grand scale.  It was just like painting a giant three dimensional picture.  Later I began painting commercial and residential murals.  Fairy castles and frog princes, the red baron doing loop de loops came alive on the walls.  Often I have been told while painting in a child’s room, “my mom won’t let me paint on the walls!”

    Now, my focus is on children’s illustration and children's related industries.  I can travel through time to distant planets to visit the queen and never leave my desk.

    Currently I live and work in Houston.  Ours is a house filled with children, animals, paintbrushes and books. And I still paint on the walls.
