It’s the mushroom or toadstool, (I know not which) below that put me on this mushroom quest today. It is such a brilliant orange I thought it was one of the sand box toys left out to become Maggie, our dogs favorite thing to run with.
When I went out to pick it up, it was actually this beautiful growing fungi creature! We usually have the white fairy ring type fungi, but this one is quite beautiful… small photos do it no justice!

I made a dozen felty mushrooms like the one pictured last Christmas. And I love to take magical mushroom photos. But I’m disappointed that I did not spot any little magic mushroom witches like in your illustration. Next time I’ll be looking real close.
